Builders appointed for New College Doncaster
The builders for New College Doncaster have now been appointed. After a comprehensive selection process taking months to complete, BAM Construct UK Ltd have been chosen as the company to deliver a cutting-edge post-16 learning environment for Doncaster’s young people.
“I am delighted that we’ve appointed BAM,” said Leon Riley, Principal Designate. “We now have a very experienced company working with us to deliver a top-quality learning environment for Doncaster’s young people. This will be the only school or college in the area purpose-built for 16-19 year-olds.”
BAM Construct UK Ltd have an impressive track record of medium and large scale building projects in both the public and private sectors. Recent projects include:
- Wharfedale Locality Hospital, Otley
- Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool
- Great Ormond Street Hospital, London
- David Hockney Building, Bradford College
- City Football Academy, Manchester City FC
Working with Grant Sellars, the lead architect from Ryder Architecture, BAM’s proposal includes the innovative use of space and the reinforcing of the college’s culture of achievement and aspiration.
Building work for NCD starts in August 2016 and Phase 1 will be completed by August 2017, in time for the arrival of NCD’s first students in September 2017.
