Accepting your conditional offer
This week we’re writing to all students that we made a conditional offer to at interview.
We don’t usually ask students to formally accept their offers earlier in the year but this is something that the Department for Education requires of us in our very first year. This is to help our planning and so that we have a good idea of how many students we can expect in September.
We are writing to all students and we would kindly ask students to reply online by the deadline of Friday 31 March. All students who met our application deadline of 24 February and who meet our acceptance deadline of 31 March will have greater priority if we are oversubscribed in September.
To accept the conditional offer students need to visit www.ncdoncaster.ac.uk/accept. You’ll need your personal reference number, which will be included in the letter we’re sending to you.
We don’t want you to feel pressured and so we have given you three different options:
- Accept – Firm – this is for students who are very confident that they’re likely to be enrolling at New College Doncaster in September.
- Accept – Undecided – this is for students who want to accept their place but who are still considering other options. Choosing this option rather than the first doesn’t in any way risk your place in September.
- Decline – this is for students who have definitely decided that they no longer wish to enrol at New College. Choosing this option withdraws a student’s offer of a place.
Applications
We’ve now received nearly 900 applications for September 2017! We are still accepting applications so don’t worry if you still haven’t applied – just fill in the form at www.ncdoncaster.ac.uk/apply . Lots of students ask what happens if we’re oversubscribed. The key thing to remember is that not everyone that applies ultimately enrols, and many students do apply to multiple schools and colleges. We have lots of experience of planning around this at our sister college, New College Pontefract. If you applied by our deadline of 24 February and you accept your conditional offer by 31 March, our numbers and our estimates suggest that you’ll be absolutely fine, with space still available for students that apply after that deadline. More information can be found in our admissions policy on our website.
We’ve employed all our teachers
Having shortlisted from over 500 applicants, and interviewed over 100 people, we have now successfully appointed all of our teaching staff and progress tutors for September. We have a talented team of 30 teachers and leaders for our first year, covering the full range of subjects we’re offering. We’ll be introducing you to some of them on Facebook in the coming weeks.
